Investigative Audit
It is the process of searching for, identifying, and collecting evidence in a systematic and measurable manner with the aim of determining whether an act of fraud has occurred. This process helps stakeholders draw conclusions regarding the usefulness of the investigative examination report that has been prepared and/or used for litigation purposes. However, it should be emphasized that the authority to determine whether financial mismanagement or a violation of the law has occurred lies with the judge in court, not with the Public Accountant.
The results of this investigation are often used as evidence in court, which makes the role of the Public Accountant in the investigation process closely related to law enforcement.
